IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HOW WE ARE
MAKING THE WORLD SAFER WITH UV-C LIGHT

Is UV - UV-C Effective For Infection Prevention And Control?
Unlike other disinfecting tools, which include chemicals that can take minutes to inactivate pathogens and at times can leave bacteria on surfaces due to human and product error, UVD Robots can reach multiple surfaces in seconds with UV - UV-C light. A study found that it all but eliminates human and product error in the proliferation of pathogens that can contribute to the spread of pathogens that contribute to infection.

How UV - UVC Is Used In Hospital Epidemiology And Infection Control
UV-C light has been used for decades to disinfect industrial surfaces and sanitize drinking water. It is especially advantageous for use in hospitals because it kills the spore-forming bacterium Clostridium difficile, which is a major source of hospital-acquired infections (HAI)

What are UVD Robots?
The UVD Robot® is used as part of the regular cleaning cycle and aims at preventing and reducing the spread of infectious diseases, viruses, bacteria, and other types of harmful organic micro-organisms in the environment by breaking down their DNA structure. The robot is safe, reliable and eliminates human error. Furthermore, it is user-friendly and is designed to be operated by everyday cleaning staff.

What is UV - UV-C Light?
Ultraviolet (UV) light is a type of radiation. It has more energy than radio waves or visible light but less energy than X-rays or gamma rays. You can be exposed to UV light via natural sunlight or through human-made sources like tanning beds.

Is UV-C light safe?
Our UVD Robot® disinfects small and large areas simply just by driving by. Depending on the exposure time, The UVD Robot can kill up to 99.999% of pathogens such as MRSA, C. dif, and CPR/CRA. It disinfects all environments that are potentially harbouring dangerous microorganisms. The UV-C light is highly effective against most types of bacteria and viruses, and when used correctly, can also be gentle to surfaces.

How Does UV - UV-C Light Sterilization Work?
When DNA is damaged, any organism becomes unable to function. An organism that has no instructions cannot function and reproduce, and cannot cause infection. It is rendered harmless and eventually dies. Therefore sanitization has occurred.

General questions
There are a number of factors associated with transmission and can be different for various pathogens but the main method of transmission for Covid-19 is AIRBORNE:
  • DIRECT CONTACT: Direct contact transmission occurs through direct body contact with the tissues or fluids of an infected individual. Individuals can also be infected from touching surfaces contaminated with the virus and touching their face (e.g., eyes, nose, mouth).
  • FOMITE: Fomite transmission involves inanimate objects contaminated by an infected individual that then come in contact with a susceptible animal or human.
  • AIRBORNE: Aerosol transmission encompasses the transfer of pathogens via very small particles or droplet nuclei. Aerosol particles may be inhaled by a susceptible host or deposited onto mucous membranes or environmental surfaces. This can occur from breathing, coughing, sneezing, or vocalization of an infected individual, but also during certain medical procedures (e.g., suctioning, bronchoscopy, dentistry, inhalation anesthesia). Very small particles may remain suspended in the air for extended periods and be disseminated by air currents in a room or through a facility.
  • ORAL: The ingestion of pathogenic organisms can occur from contaminated food or water as well as by licking or chewing on contaminated objects or surfaces. Environmental contamination is most commonly due to exudates, feces, urine, or saliva.
  • VECTOR-BORNE: Vectors are living organisms that can transfer pathogenic microorganisms to other humans or animals or locations and include arthropod vectors (e.g., mosquitoes, fleas, ticks) and rodents or other vermin. Vector-borne transmission can be an important route of transmission in climates where these pests exist year-round.
Ultraviolet (beyond violet) is beyond the highest frequencies of visible light to the human eye.
UV light range
Ultraviolet (beyond violet) is beyond the highest frequencies of visible light to human sight. UV-C is refered to as Short-wave UV, germicidal UV, or ionizing radiation and is completely absorbed by the ozone layer and atmosphere. Therefore, all life on earth is never exposed to this type of radiation in the natural world. As a result, life has no resistance to this form of radiation and has been used for many years to disinfect water, air in HVAC, and other surfaces.
Ultraviolet A (UVA) has a longer wavelength, and is associated with skin aging. Ultraviolet B (UVB) has a shorter wavelength and is associated with skin burning. UV-B causes the body to produce vitamin D, which is essential for life. Humans need some UV radiation to maintain adequate vitamin D levels. Overexposure to UV-B radiation not only can cause sunburn but also some forms of skin cancer. UV-C is the highest-energy and the most dangerous type of ultraviolet radiation, and causes effects that can variously be mutagenic or carcinogenic. As such, great care must be taken in the use of UV-C for disinfection and close human exposure is considered harmful.
UVB rays are responsible for producing sunburn. The UVB rays also play the greatest role in causing skin cancers, including the deadly black mole form of skin cancer (malignant melanoma). There are approximately 500 times more UVA rays in sunlight than UVB rays yet UVA rays have the least energy among UV rays. These rays can cause skin cells to age and can cause some indirect damage to cells' DNA. UVA rays are mainly linked to long-term skin damage such as wrinkles, but they are also thought to play a role in some skin cancers.
UVD Robots have become the gold standard for effectiveness, versatility, ease of use, and unsurpassed support worldwide. The European Commission did an extensive study on the deployment of UV-C type robots and determined that the UVD Robots stood out well above other units in all categories as evidenced by their first order of 200 units. The EU chose the UVD robot over all other forms of disinfection as, in their opinion, it provided the best certainty in disinfection because of its autonomous operations.
